Seismic joints

Seismic joints, also called “expansion joints for buildings”, allow large multidirectional movements of structures to avoid collisions and ensure the durability of the structures.

Different types of expansion joints for building

Numerous models of seismic expansion joints for buildings are available: floor joints for heavy loads, expansion joints for the buildings with large openings, reinforced expansion joints as well as vertical expansion joints for facades, walls and ceilings etc.

How do expansion joints for buildings work ?

Seismic expansion joints for buildings absorb three-dimensional movements up to ± 600mm. They can be installed both indoors and outdoors, in new construction or renovation, with any type of finish (concrete, resin, flexible flooring, cast stone, etc.) and for any type of building (shopping centres, industrial floors, factories, warehouses, housing, stations, etc.). Expansion joints for buildings are complementary to our VEDAFEU firestop solutions and our waterproofing products.

JDH 6.08

All aluminium seismic floor expansion joint for indoor and outdoor applications. The two top aluminium components slide one into the other, which takes up any movement due to expansion and contraction. Suitable for all types of finish: concrete, screed, tiling, etc.

JDH 6.12

All-metal floor expansion joint specially designed to withstand heavy loads: load handling equipment, lorries... Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. The central elements allow significant expansion and contraction movements, as well as vertical shearing movements. Suitable for all types of finish: concrete, screed, tiling, etc.

JDH 6.14

All-metal floor expansion joint specially designed to withstand heavy loads: load handling equipment, lorries... Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. The central elements allow significant expansion and contraction movements, as well as vertical shearing movements. Suitable for all types of finish: concrete, screed, tiling, etc.
